There are just some days where you wake up and you just know – it’s your day. Things are going to go your way. It’s that time again for kicking ass and taking names.
I woke up today, and shockingly, I woke up on time, three times in a row to be exact. I woke up in time to tell my husband goodbye as he left for work. Then I woke up just before 6 a.m. to take my son to the school to catch the bus for his wrestling tournament out of town. Then I woke up an hour later to get up and get ready myself to head out of town to this tournament.
I knew it was going to be a great day when I hit the snooze button three times and still managed to get up, take a shower, get ready and get out the door and made it there exactly on time, to a tournament that was an hour’s drive away. I had the right seat, I had the right clothes and I had the right kid. My kid was out there wrestling at a higher weight class than usual – which means he was wrestling kids bigger than him – and he pinned two of them in under a minute. He had the right moves at exactly the right time.
When I finally arrived home this afternoon I had thought I wouldn’t be able to write on my NaNo story but as it turned out, it was my day. It’s my thing. I did get to write and I managed to get in a few more thousand words today in addition to the 12,000 words I had written in the previous two days.
I couldn’t help but be reminded of a song I heard yesterday afternoon and thought I might share it with you. Remember, it’s your thing. Do what you want to do.
Don’t you just love it when things click for the entire day, including the pleasant quick tempo of a clicking keyboard when in the groove.
Kudos to you for writing your quota, and then some!
Take care,
Paul
Thanks! There is a great feeling that comes with great days and with inspiration.
